Frequently asked questions
The questions our allocators answer most often.
Booking & quoting
Use the quote form, email us, or call 0499 003 000. We need both locations, the weight, the dimensions and a description of the goods.
A single pallet. Small consignments usually travel alongside other freight heading the same way, which keeps the cost down.
As early as you can. We run a small fleet, so availability depends on what is already committed — a day or two of notice makes a real difference, and anything oversize needing permits needs longer.
Yes, at no charge until the vehicle is despatched. Once a driver is en route to collect, a call-out fee may apply.
Deliveries
Sometimes, but a semi-trailer cannot get down many residential streets and there is often nothing on site to unload with. Ring us with the address before you book.
Only with written authority to leave. Without it the driver attempts contact and, failing that, returns the freight to our yard. Redelivery is charged.
Drivers will help where it is safe to do so, but our trailers are loaded and unloaded by forklift or crane. Tell us at booking if there is no machine at your end and we will work out how to handle it.
Pricing & accounts
On the greater of actual or cubic weight, plus any handling requirements such as timed delivery, temperature control or waiting time.
Where one applies it is shown as its own line on the invoice, not buried in the rate.
Talk to us. Accounts and payment terms are arranged case by case for regular customers.
Claims & compliance
Carrier's liability cover applies subject to our conditions of carriage, and it is not the same thing as full transit insurance. For high-value goods, arrange your own transit cover or ask us about it before the freight moves.
Note it on the consignment note at delivery, photograph it before moving it, and tell us within 48 hours. Claims are much harder to resolve without those two steps.
Ring us and tell us what your prequalification needs — insurance certificates, ABN and ACN details and our safety information. See safety & compliance.
Ask us before you book. Dangerous goods must be declared, classified and packaged correctly, and whether we can take them depends on the class and the route.
